Sprouting from the literary landscape of John Steinbeck’s Salinas Valley, I traded lettuce fields for beaches to attend the University of California, Santa Barbara, where I earned a bachelor’s degree in comparative literature and minors in French and professional writing (editing track).
In 2013, I graduated from the Columbia Publishing Course, an intensive program on all aspects of book, magazine, and digital media publishing. Soon after, I began working as a proofreader at a large educational publisher. With over two years of editorial experience, I have edited and proofread fiction, nonfiction, children’s, and textbook titles, in addition to smaller projects like articles, essays, research proposals, and newsletters. Most recently I have been working as the proofreader for a publisher of Christian ministry resources. Primarily proofing curriculum for Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, every day I feel so blessed to wield my red pen and serve Christ and His Church with the gift of good grammar, which I know only comes from Him.
When not cocooned in my cozy editing habitat replete with grammar books and copius amounts of coffee, I can be found swimming in the Pacific, baking chocolatey treats, or dreaming about cats.
